The risk rating agency Moody´s took the credit rating of the long term sovereign debt of the Republic of Panama to “Baa3”, which places it on the category of “investment grade”. This rating is added to the ones made to the same effect by the risk rating agencies Standard & Poor’s and Fitch Ratings.
Moody´s considered the positive impact of the fiscal initiatives recently implemented, the perspectives of the sustained economical growth, the canal expansion (that shall increase the revenues of the State) and the ambitious construction plan of public infrastructure.
This investment grade rating, by the three main risk rating agencies constitute their opinion regarding the capacity and disposition that the country has to pay its debt.
