Preparatory education: University of Panama and Villanova University, Pennsylvania; Legal Education: Tulane University School of Law (Juris Doctor), Louisiana, U.S.A. Admitted to Bar 1963, Republic of Panama. Author of the article "The Law of the Flag, Admiralty", published in the Law Review of the University of Tulane.

Member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Panama (1966-1968) and currently, a member of the Panama Bar Association, Inter-American Bar Association, the American Foreign Law Association, American Chamber of Commerce, and the Panama-South Rotary Club.
