Career Trajectory

Gabriela Tejada de Britton is the Head of the IP Division of the firm. With over 30 years of experience in Intellectual Property, she provides expert counseling for the trademark portfolio of local and multinational companies in a wide range of sectors which include, among others, beauty and personal care, pharmaceutical, automobile, retail, luxury goods, food and beverages, finance and entertainment.

Counseling includes trademark and copyright licensing, franchising, trademark enforcement, trademark and patent prosecution, opposition and cancellation proceedings.

Gabriela performed a key role in drafting the country’s current Industrial Property Laws, and as the former President of the Panamanian Association of Intellectual Property Law (APADEPI) for 2020-2022, has been engaged in the revision of proceedings both in the Panamanian Trademark and Copyright Offices.

Year after year, she continues to be ranked as a leading lawyer by publications such as Chambers and Partners, Legal 500, Who’s Who Legal, Leaders League and WTR1000. Under her guidance, the Intellectual Property Department has also remained well-positioned in these rankings and has won as Panama’s best Trademark Firm in publications such as The Global IP Awards by WTR, IAM in 2020 and Managing IP in 2021 – 2022.
